Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating leadership, decision‑making under stress, and ability to learn regulations and procedures.
• A bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four‑year program leading to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Combination of general work experience and education, evaluated via resume and transcripts submitted with the application.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration or customs violations and inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using various patrol methods and equipment.
• Interpret tracks, marks, and evidence of illegal entry to support enforcement actions.
• Conduct farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks as part of border patrol duties.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using diverse government assets to accomplish the USBP mission.
