The BPA role emphasizes detecting and questioning individuals, preventing illegal entry, and patrolling borders with diverse assets in support of CBP’s mission. Positions are full-time with competitive base pay and a range of federal benefits, including recruitment and retention incentives.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge and stay composed under stress.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
• Combination of experience and education may qualify.
• Experience in public safety, security, military police or law enforcement may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration laws and inspect documents.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers using surveillance and night operations.
• Interpret tracks, marks and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Patrol borders and coastal waterways using various assets to fulfill the CBP mission.
