Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) across multiple duty locations in the United States.

These full-time federal positions offer competitive base pay and comprehensive benefits, with recruitment and retention incentives to attract qualified candidates. As a BPA you will patrol borders, question individuals, inspect documents, and utilize vehicles and equipment to enforce immigration and border safety.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience OR a bachelor's degree OR a combination of both to qualify for entry.
• Selection may involve multiple grade levels (GL-5, GL-7, GL-9) with promotion potential to GS-12.
• Education substitution allows a full four-year degree in any field from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of immigration and border violations and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the borders using surveillance and various assets.
• Patrolling international boundaries and coastal areas to fulfill the USBP mission.
