SMX is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to join our team in support of a Modernized Data Science Platform for a Federal customer. The focus is to bridge business needs and technical solutions using modern AI capabilities.

The role involves designing AI Agents, researching AI capabilities (Databricks, Palantir), prompting LLMs, building chatbots, and training ML models on production data. Requires US citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance, a CS degree, ≥6 years of experience, and strong

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Experience: 6 years of related work experience.
Security: US citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance or ability to get one.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
2+ years of hands-on development with AI models.
Experience integrating AI capabilities into Dev/Ops pipelines.
Experience developing Agents using OpenAI LLMs.
Experience with AI chatbots for business needs.
Experience training ML models on live production data.
Experience with agile development.
Familiar with relational and non-relational databases.
Ability to work cross-functionally and independently.
Proven code reviews and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Design and develop new AI Agents to accelerate capabilities meeting business requirements.
Research AI capabilities with Databricks and Palantir to standardize usage.
Prompt Engineer LLMs for faster analysis and coding.
