Job summary
SMX is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to join our team in support of a Modernized Data Science Platform for a Federal customer. The focus is to bridge business needs with technical solutions, leveraging modern AI capabilities.

Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of related work experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- At least 2 years hands-on experience training AI models.
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into Dev/Ops pipelines.
- Experience developing agents using OpenAI LLMs and AI chatbots.
- Experience training ML models on live/production data.
- Experience with Agile development methods.
- Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and independently.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new AI agents to meet business requirements.
- Research AI capabilities using Databricks and Palantir to standardize usage.
- Prompt engineer LLMs for faster analysis and coding.
- Develop chatbots to support developer and customer interactions.
- Train ML models to predict outcomes using historical data.
