Job summary
SMX is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to join our team to support a Modernized Data Science Platform for a Federal customer. The role bridges business needs with technical solutions, focusing on cutting-edge AI capabilities.
Responsibilities include designing AI Agents, researching Databricks and Palantir capabilities, prompting LLMs, building AI chatbots, and training models on production data to enable predictive insights and anomaly detection.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 6+ years of related work experience
- 2+ years hands-on development experience training AI models
- Experience integrating AI into Dev/Ops pipelines
- Experience developing Agents using OpenAI LLMs
- Experience building AI chatbots for business needs
- Experience training ML models on production datasets
- Experience with agile development
- Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases
- Ability to work cross-functionally and independently
- Proven ability to document code and share knowledge
- Driven, self-directed personality with a strong mission focus
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new AI Agents to meet business functional requirements.
- Research AI capabilities in Databricks and Palantir to standardize usage.
- Prompt Engineer LLMs to accelerate analysis and coding.
- Develop chatbots to support developer and customer interactions.
- Train ML models to predict outcomes from historical data.
