Job summary

Sherwin-Williams is seeking an Assistant Manager Trainee in the United States to fast-track into a Store Manager role in 18-24 months. The program combines 6-8 weeks of training with ongoing leadership exposure and hands-on management experience.

The role features a 44-hour work week (evenings/weekends possible) and will grow the business by servicing painting contractors and commercial customers, building product knowledge and customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include being at least 18 years old
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
• Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
• Must have a High School diploma or GED
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 70 lbs occasionally
• Preferred: 1 year in retail/sales/customer service
• Preferred: 1 year in leadership roles
• Preferred: experience selling paint and paint-related products
• Preferred: experience with timekeeping/CRM systems
• Preferred: associate degree or higher in business, sales or marketing
• Willingness to relocate for future opportunities
• Ability to read/write in multiple languages including Spanish

Responsibilities

• Complete training consistent with the program
• Support strategies to increase sales and profitability
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
• Build knowledge of all products for effective recommendations
• Develop relationships with wholesale and retail customers
• Complete store administration
• Ensure compliance with safety, loss prevention, and security policies
• Maintain store condition and visual merchandising standards
• Support training and performance development of employees
• Respond to customer and employee complaints
• Partner with Store Manager to make outside sales calls to increase market share
