Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking a farmhand to attend to live farm and ranch animals, including cattle. Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, catching, and loading animals, and assisting with births and deliveries while maintaining records.

Must speak English and have at least six months of verifiable experience. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, obtain a driver’s license after hire, and submit to a random drug test may apply.

Responsibilities

• Feed, water, herd, graze, castrate, brand, catch, and load cattle.
• Assist in live birth deliveries of cows and heifers.
• Mix, grind and deliver feed to cattle to supplement diet.
• Maintain records on animals.
• Inspect and maintain livestock housing, facilities, fences, pens and yards.
• Move livestock between locations.

Attend to live farm, ranch animals that include cattle; Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, catching, and loading animals; Assist in live birth deliveries of cows and heifers; Mix, grind, deliver, move feed/feedstuffs to cattle to supplement diet; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; Administer medications, vaccinations, shots, oral wormers, pour on wormers, etc. as appropriate; Clean and maintain animal housing areas; Inspect, maintain, prepare, repair livestock facilities, buildings, pens, yards, and fences; Move livestock from one location to another; Break ice in water tanks. Must speak and understand English.

Experience wanted: 6 months

Six (6) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.

• Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
• Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.
