Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking a live farm hand to care for cattle and ranch animals, including feeding, watering, herding, branding, castration, catching, and loading. Maintain animal records and assist with births as needed.

English speaking ability is required. Housing and meals are provided; transportation to stores is arranged as needed. Must have 6 months of experience, be able to lift 50 lbs, and may undergo random drug testing after hire.

Qualifications

• Six months of recent, verifiable farm experience preferred.
• Must be able to understand and speak English.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Feed, water, herd, graze, castrate, brand, catch, and load cattle and other ranch animals.
• Maintain records on animals and assist with birth deliveries as needed.
• Move livestock between locations and care for animal housing areas.

Job description

Attend to live farm, ranch animals that include cattle; Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, catching, and loading animals; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; Assist in birth deliveries; Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate; Move livestock from one location to another; Clean and maintain animal housing areas; Provide mineral to cattle; Must speak and understand English.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Experience wanted: 6 months

Six (6) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
