Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or Medical Secretary Certification preferred.
• 2 years medical office experience and 1 year of scheduling experience required.
• Excellent organization and communication skills; ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency with copier, fax, telephone system and standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient care activity and coordinates flow of information between physician, patient and referring physician.
• Manages daily scheduling using office systems for labs, tests and follow-ups; provides clerical support.
• Handles calls, transcribes and distributes correspondence; coordinates meetings and travel for physicians.
• Checks out patients, schedules follow-ups, collects co-pays and verifies referrals as needed.
• Maintains cash handling and deposits; may serve as EMR Super User; performs other duties as assigned.
