Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time substitute teacher who shares a mature Christian faith and active church involvement. This role focuses on delivering LifeWise classes using provided curriculum and maintaining a safe, engaging classroom.

You will complete substitute teacher training, take attendance, communicate with the supervising teacher, and be an ambassador in the community. This position is non-exempt and paid hourly.

Qualifications

• Must have a mature Christian faith aligned with LifeWise Academy beliefs.
• Active participation in a local church with aligned doctrine.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for classroom interaction.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training.
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis.
• Implement the lesson plans using the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment following LifeWise policies and procedures.
• Follow the program's student discipline policy.
• Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom.
• Know procedures for emergency situations.
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community.
• Communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and assign duties.
• Communicate with the teacher.
