Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore seeks a Faculty Affairs Program Specialist to provide administrative leadership for the faculty lifecycle within the Biomedical Engineering department. You will coordinate appointments, promotions, annual reviews, onboarding, and related policies to ensure compliance and timely processing.

This role manages program planning, budgeting, events, communications, and reporting, with potential supervision of staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Two years of related experience required
  • Education substitutions may substitute for experience and vice versa under policy

Responsibilities

  • Set goals and plan to meet program objectives.
  • Develop and oversee timelines for special activities and deliverables.
  • Develop budget and manage program expenses, projections, and reporting.
  • Plan and manage outreach activities and internal events with vendors.
  • Create and expand communications via websites, social media, and publications.
  • Represent the program internally and externally.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of program activities.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve business practices to support day-to-day operations.
  • Review and evaluate program needs and maintain cost effectiveness.
  • Oversee annual reports and work plans; supervise staff if applicable.
  • Coordinate departmental faculty searches and administrative support throughout recruitment.
  • Manage processes for appointments and promotions, including external letters and documentation.
