Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician in Des Moines, IA to inspect, maintain and build buildings and perform general maintenance across sites.

The role requires experience in electrical, A/C, HVAC, plumbing or landscaping, a valid driver license and DOT certification; must be 18+. You will use hand/power tools and participate in U-Haul University training. U-Haul offers extensive benefits and career stability.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, A/C, HVAC, plumbing or landscaping.
• Valid driver license.
• D.O.T certification (can be sponsored by U-Haul).
• Must be 18 or older

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and build new buildings.
• Perform general maintenance, installation, repair and service.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and semiannual roof inspections at various sites.
• Effectively work with a variety of hand/power tools.
• Pool knowledge with other Facility Maintenance Technicians to accomplish complex projects.
• Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Keep track of company truck and gas card.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
