Job summary

U-Haul International, Inc. is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician in Illinois. You will work with other technicians to inspect, maintain and upgrade buildings, using a range of hand and power tools to complete projects efficiently.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, timely work requests, and ongoing training through U‑Haul University. A valid driver’s license and relevant trade experience are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, A/C, HVAC, plumbing or landscaping.
• Valid driver's license.
• D.O.T certification (can be sponsored by U‑Haul).
• Must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and build new buildings.
• Perform general maintenance, installation, repair and service.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and semiannual roof inspections at various sites.
• Effectively work with a variety of hand/power tools.
• Pool knowledge with other Facility Maintenance Technicians to accomplish complex projects.
• Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Keep track of company truck and gas card.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U‑Haul education through U‑Haul University.
