Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician in Alsip, IL. You will use your technical skills with other technicians to maintain and repair buildings, perform preventive roof inspections, and complete work requests promptly.

You must have experience in electrical, HVAC, plumbing or landscaping, plus a valid driver’s license. U-Haul offers two paid hands-on interviews, a $100 hiring bonus, and ongoing training through U-Haul University.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, A/C, HVAC, plumbing or landscaping.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• D.O.T certification can be sponsored by U-Haul.
• Must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and build new buildings.
• Perform general maintenance, installation, repair and service.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and semiannual roof inspections at various sites.
• Effectively work with a variety of hand/power tools.
• Pool knowledge with other Facility Maintenance Technicians to accomplish complex projects.
• Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Keep track of company truck and gas card.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
