Job summary

Feed My Starving Children in Aurora, IL seeks a Site Leadership Team member to supervise food packing shifts and coordinate facilities, repairs, and vendor services. You will support food safety, quality, and donor engagement while guiding volunteers through mission storytelling and prayers.

This role requires leadership experience, the ability to coach peers, and strong hospitality toward volunteers and supporters. A 40-hour week, varied shifts, and safety training are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; facilities maintenance experience preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership experience is required; able to coach and direct others.
• Able to present to large groups of volunteers and supporters.
• Self-starter capable of independent decisions and problem solving.
• Able to lift 30–50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Supervise food packing operations during scheduled shifts and ensure procedures are followed from setup to cleanup.
• Provide on-the-spot coaching and recognize successes while escalating issues as needed.
• Lead site-level facilities support, coordinating with property management and vendors.
• Act as on-site contact for safety, quality, and emergencies in absence of management.
• Create welcoming volunteer experiences through public speaking and storytelling.
• Orchestrate packing sessions, direct volunteers, and manage palletized goods.
• Maintain a clean, food-safe facility, including cleaning and warehousing tasks.
• Uphold safety, food quality, and regulatory policies across the site.
• Serve as backup forklift driver when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
