Job summary

Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC, is seeking an entry-level Building Maintenance Technician I to support Facilities operations. You will perform basic maintenance tasks, assist trades, and respond to work orders initiated by the Engineering control room and supervisors.

You must have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 70 pounds. This role runs evenings 3 pm–11:30 pm Tue–Sat and offers pay range shown, with opportunities to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of related and progressive maintenance experience.
• Experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and related trades is preferred.
• Familiarity with automated work order systems and basic software tools.

Responsibilities

• Take initiative to identify and report deficiencies by submitting work orders.
• Follow up with requestors and communicate steps for completion.
• Represent engineering staff in a professional and helpful manner.
• Maintain safety and accuracy in all communications and actions.
