Job summary

CBRE Union Helper in New York supports engineering and technical services by operating and maintaining building HVAC systems, assisting in mechanical maintenance, and performing general labor tasks to keep the facility running smoothly.

The role requires NYC Fire Department certificates of fitness, a high school diploma or equivalent, good communication and basic math, and basic PC skills; the position is on-site with opportunities to grow within CBRE's union programs.

Qualifications

• Five NYC FD certificates of fitness required.
• Must have A35, F60, G60, S12, S13, S14, S95, F01, P98, P99.
• High School Diploma or GED or currently enrolled in college/technical school.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to perform basic math and simple figures.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering staff in operating building HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Help maintain and repair equipment as needed.
• Perform general labor including deliveries, loading/unloading, and stocking.
• Conduct daily rounds and log mechanical conditions.
• Identify hazards and report issues.
• Perform housekeeping in mechanical/HVAC spaces.
• Assist with minor repairs under supervision.
• Respond to emergencies and summon assistance as needed.
• Follow procedures for repetitive tasks.
