Job summary

CBRE Maintenance Technician role located in New York focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for HVAC and electrical systems in a smart building. You will support daily operations, ensuring safety, reliability, and energy-efficient performance.

This hands-on position reports to the Engineering and Technical Services team and operates Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, working with building systems to keep facilities running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Driver License required.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and repair HVAC systems for safe, efficient operation.
• Inspect and maintain electrical systems and building equipment, diagnosing issues to minimize downtime.
• Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and perform repairs.
• Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
• Review work orders and coordinate with systems to track completion.
• Support energy management by ensuring building systems operate efficiently.
• Inspect existing installations for compliance with codes and safety regulations.
• Follow established procedures to solve straightforward problems and communicate clearly.
• Contribute to team output by following defined duties and processes under supervision.
