Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a UNION Helper in New York, NY to perform general maintenance and custodial duties in a commercial property setting. You will assist engineers, handle minor repairs, and support project-related tasks while ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED and, ideally, 1+ year of related experience. Candidates should be mechanically inclined and able to work in a fast-paced environment with varying shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Participation in an apprentice program or trade school preferred.
• 1+ year of related experience in a commercial property setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance under close supervision.
• Perform custodial duties, grounds maintenance, and minor maintenance and repair work.
• Perform general labor work including loading, unloading, and errands for projects.
• Replace and repair door hardware, locks, and keys.
• Interior and exterior painting with various paints and surface prep.
• Replace light bulbs/lamps/ballasts and clean fixtures.
• Move furniture and assist with setup.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and customer service requests as assigned.
• Maintain landscaping, sidewalks, common areas, and parking facilities.
• Snow removal/leaf sweeping as needed.
• Adhere to all codes and safety procedures; use building automation systems and relevant tech.
