Job summary

AMF Bakery Systems in Richmond is seeking a Facilities Manager to maintain the integrity of our facility, lead design and maintenance of equipment, buildings, and utilities, and manage budgets and safety programs.

You will oversee space planning, vendor contracts, emergency response, environmental compliance, and safety committees, ensuring cost-effective operations and sustainable practices.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5+ years of experience preferred.
• Electrical and/or mechanical background.
• MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Safety certifications preferred, but training may be provided.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Budgeting/cost knowledge for quotes and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Oversees coordination of building space allocation and layout; ensures safety and compliance.
• Inspects construction and installation progress.
• Initiates planned maintenance programs for office and plant machinery/equipment; preventative maintenance.
• Manages vendor contracts for grounds, security, and building systems.
• Manages annual operating budget including hours, overtime, and maintenance costs.
• Acts as primary responder to emergencies and alarms.
• Oversees environmental compliance and testing via third-party support.
• Leads Safety Committee and conducts monthly on-site safety inspections.
• Drives sustainability initiatives for US and Latin American operations.
• Leads capital expenditure projects and develops project plans.
