Job summary

More Than A Bakery is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance team and oversee the safe, efficient operation of a legacy bakery facility. You will manage preventive and corrective programs for aging equipment, coordinate with production and quality, and drive reliability improvements while ensuring full food safety compliance.

The role requires hands-on leadership, experience with CMMS, and ability to source hard-to-find parts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Associate degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in food manufacturing or regulated environment, with at least 2 years in supervision
Proven ability to troubleshoot older non-PLC electromechanical systems; relay logic, analog controls, mechanical governors
Hands-on welding, fabrication, and machining skills
Experience sourcing obsolete or discontinued parts via aftermarket, rebuild, or custom fabrication
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, LOTO, OSHA 29 CFR 1910
CMMS proficiency (SAP PM, Fiix, Maintenance Connection)
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities

Oversee maintenance of bakery equipment and facilities, ensuring safety, reliability, and food-grade compliance
Lead and develop a team of maintenance technicians with hands-on trade skills
Develop and manage maintenance plans, preventive programs, and spare parts inventories
Ensure regulatory compliance with FDA, OSHA, EPA, and local codes; support audits
Manage budget and external vendors, and pursue cost-saving improvements
