Job summary

Brave Space Alliance in Chicago seeks a Peace, Safety, and Operations Coordinator to join the Facilities and Operations team. You will help keep the space safe, functional, and welcoming, overseeing maintenance, coordinating vendors, and supporting budgeting and reporting under the COO.

The role requires hands-on facilities experience, trauma-informed approaches, and the ability to de-escalate situations. We offer full-time work, 55k salary, and strong health benefits, paid time off, holidays,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Trauma-informed, de-escalation, restorative justice, security certification and/or training.
• Experience in waste management, safety procedures, and operations.
• Experience in facilities management or light repairs/handyperson skills.
• Two+ years of progressive responsibility in operational management and supervising contractors.
• Experience managing operating budgets and various office projects.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Coordinate inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
• Maintain building appliances and HVAC units in offices.
• Schedule and manage deliveries and vendor activities.
• Collaborate on budgeting for facilities needs.
