BRC - Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. is seeking a Facility Manager to ensure safe, cost-effective operation of its facilities serving Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Queens.

The role oversees preventive maintenance, building systems, and security, coordinating capital projects and regulatory compliance. The position leads staff, manages vendors, and supports program operations within a nonprofit housing and social services context.

Qualifications

• 5+ years facilities management or related experience.
• Experience overseeing maintenance, building systems, contractors, and vendors.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Supervisory experience and staff/resource management.
• Experience using CMMS or similar systems.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Valid Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation, maintenance, safety, and security of facilities.
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs and asset life-cycle planning.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and health & safety regulations; coordinate actions.
• Plan and supervise facility repairs, renovations, and capital projects.
• Coach and supervise maintenance and janitorial staff; ensure high-quality service.
• Manage vendor/contractor relationships, procurement, and performance.
• Oversee building security operations and access controls.
