Job summary

BRC is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker to perform building maintenance, preventive work, repairs, and inspections at multiple NYC locations. The role emphasizes safety, timely service, and creating a welcoming environment for clients, staff, and visitors.

The ideal candidate has experience with basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general repairs, plus familiarity with CMMS and work orders.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in facilities maintenance or related skilled trade.
• Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and drywall repairs.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and work order systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and complete repairs independently.
• Comfort with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Inspect HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, doors, windows, and infrastructure.
• Document inspections and work orders in CMMS; maintain safety records.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe condition.
• Support room turnovers, move-ins/outs, and facility improvement projects.
• Assist with furniture moves, equipment setup, deliveries, and space reconfigurations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and building codes; address hazards promptly.
