Job summary

Bowery Residents' Committee seeks a Facility Manager to ensure safe, efficient operations of multiple NYC facilities. You will oversee maintenance, security, and capital projects while coordinating with staff and vendors to maintain compliance and cost-effectiveness.

The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of codes, and CMMS proficiency, with a background in nonprofit or social services settings preferred. Regular office-based work with occasional travel across facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years in facilities management, building operations, construction, or maintenance.
• Experience supervising staff and managing contractors/vendors.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation, maintenance, safety and security of assigned facilities.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs and asset lifecycle planning.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations; coordinate corrective actions.
• Plan and oversee repairs, renovations, and capital improvement projects.
• Train and supervise maintenance and janitorial staff; enforce performance expectations.
