Job summary

BRC is seeking a Facility Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of its facilities across Manhattan and surrounding areas. You will oversee maintenance programs, building systems, vendor performance, and regulatory compliance to support program operations and staff.

The role requires 5+ years in facilities management, strong leadership, CMMS experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus 5+ years in facilities management, building operations, construction, or maintenance.
• Experience overseeing facility maintenance, repairs, building systems, contractors, and service vendors.
• Knowledge of building codes, workplace safety standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Supervisory experience and ability to manage staff and resources.
• Experience using CMMS or similar facilities management systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid Driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation, maintenance, safety and security of assigned facilities, ensuring a clean, compliant, and efficient environment.
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs, facility inspections, work orders, and asset lifecycle planning.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, health and safety regulations, and regulatory agency requirements; coordinate corrective actions.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee facility repair, refurbishment, renovation, and capital improvement projects.
• Train, coach, and supervise maintenance and janitorial staff; manage performance and growth.
• Manage vendor and contractor relationships: procurement, contracts, performance, and invoicing.
• Oversee building security operations including access control and security vendor management.
• Monitor operating expenses and support energy-efficiency initiatives.
• Supervise maintenance staff, prioritize workloads, and allocate resources effectively.
• Respond to facility emergencies and program concerns with timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with program leadership to support facility-related needs.
