Job summary

BRC is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker to perform building upkeep, repairs, and inspections across NYC area locations. The role requires basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and preventive maintenance skills to keep resident areas, offices, and grounds safe and functional.

The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliable execution of work orders, with focus on creating a welcoming environment for clients, residents, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• One year or more of facilities maintenance experience.
• Experience with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general repairs.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and work order systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and complete repairs independently.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.
• Inspect HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, and building infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform repairs to minimize disruptions.
• Maintain tools and work areas in a safe, organized condition.
• Support room turnovers, move-ins/move-outs, and improvement projects.
• Assist with furniture moves, equipment setups, and space reconfigurations.
• Ensure safety and compliance with OSHA and building codes.
• Document inspections and work in CMMS.
