Job summary

The City of El Paso is seeking a supervisor to plan, schedule, and oversee day-to-day maintenance and operation of city buildings and grounds. The role includes directing crews, logging work orders, and ensuring preventative maintenance and safety standards across facilities and related systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or higher.
• Four years of experience in building trades, building, or grounds maintenance, including two years as lead worker.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and supervise day-to-day operations, maintenance, repair, cleanliness, and disinfection of buildings and grounds.
• Direct crews and provide repair, maintenance, upkeep, cleanliness, disinfection, and other services to buildings, grounds, facilities, and related systems.
• Prepare and log work orders; oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance inspections and reviews; oversee multi-shift work schedules.
• Assign work to staff; review, evaluate, and assess work; conduct daily inspections to ensure standards are met; identify areas for improvement.
• Recommend techniques, supplies, and materials; oversee procurement of supplies and inventory; manage contractors and vendors.
• Coordinate trades and labor activities for operations, maintenance, and repair of municipal outdoor and indoor swimming pools, if assigned.
• Oversee budgets, policy input, and development of operational guidelines; supervise staff, conduct performance appraisals, and manage emergencies.
