The City of El Paso Fire Department is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Lead Worker. This position supports custodial, building, and field maintenance with an emphasis on OEM/migrant response.

You will supervise a small crew, coordinate preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and quality in all tasks. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 3 years in building trades or maintenance, plus a valid Texas Class C license (CDL may be required for some roles).

Competenze

• High school diploma, GED, or higher plus 3 years in building trades or grounds/maintenance.
• Texas Class C Driver's License or equivalent; some positions may require Class B CDL.
• CDL or safety-sensitive positions are subject to drug and alcohol testing per federal regulations.
• General supervision; perform and oversee semi-skilled and skilled maintenance on City properties and facilities.

• Oversee preventive building maintenance; write work orders, schedule staff, ensure quality and on-time completion.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repairs.
• Perform carpentry, painting, or related repairs; concrete and asphalt repair on ramps, runways, roads, and parking areas.
• Maintain landscaping, irrigation, and backflow prevention devices; inspect and maintain pool systems and pumps.
• Oversee a small work crew; assign, review, inspect work; train and develop employees; uphold safety practices.
• Interact with regulatory agencies, vendors, contractors, other departments or the public; ensure continuity during absences.
