Job summary

City of El Paso is seeking a working supervisor to oversee maintenance of City properties and facilities. You will supervise a small crew and perform semi-skilled to skilled tasks across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and paving.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 3 years in building trades or grounds/maintenance; a Texas Class C license is required, with CDL necessary for some roles. CDL/safety testing may apply where mandated.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 3 years of building trades or maintenance experience.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License; Class B CDL may be required for some positions.
• CDL or safety sensitive roles subject to federal drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of City properties and facilities as a working supervisor.
• Assign, review and inspect preventive maintenance, repairs and safety practices.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing and structural issues; perform carpentry, painting and related repairs.
• Inspect work quality, manage work orders, schedule staff and ensure on-time completion.
• Maintain pools, boilers, pumps, backflow devices, landscaping and related systems; monitor safety and code conformance.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies, vendors and other departments; respond to emergencies as needed.
