Job summary

CW seeks an Operating Engineer to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems at a commercial property. The role may be solo or involve supervising maintenance staff, depending on site size and complexity.

The engineer will perform preventive maintenance, respond to emergencies, and coordinate with contractors while maintaining stock and documenting building operations for management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; apprentice/trade school preferred.
• Experience in operating mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Supervise maintenance staff when applicable and manage projects.
• Perform preventive maintenance like filters, belts, bearings, and lamp replacements.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and technicians; maintain inventories.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure compliance with codes and safety practices.
• Prepare monthly operation reports for management.
