Position Summary:
The Catholic Diocese of Raleigh, North Carolina is seeking a highly communicative and service-oriented Facilities Manager. The Facilities Manager reports to the Director of Property, Construction, & Risk Management. The Facilities Manager oversees building maintenance and upkeep and any minor remodeling of facilities, and serves as back-up for building security system administration and emergency response situations. The Facility Manager assists in planning of future building space and supply needs, and may personally perform minor maintenance functions. Additionally, serves as the primary point of contact for supply vendors and the property management firm and oversees a communication program to keep building users and constituents informed of activities and to address maintenance calls.
- Maintains a high level of communication with building users and constituents, building relationships, and maintaining a high standard of service.
- Immediately responds to urgent maintenance calls and resolves basic maintenance issues.
- Maintains a preventive maintenance program within the confines of an annual budget, including heating, air conditioning, and repair of buildings and equipment.
- Monitors the annual budget for operations and expenses.
- Conducts periodic equipment maintenance checks, including plumbing, electrical, drainage, and security systems.
- Coordinates repair efforts with the property management firm for complex maintenance situations.
- Sets long-term plans for maintenance of diocesan properties in consultation with the Director of Property, Construction, & Risk Management.
- Ensures proper setup of conference rooms, including furniture, audio/video equipment, and supplies.
- Prepares and oversees conference rooms for meetings and events.
- Ensures office supplies, copiers, and kitchen areas are stocked appropriately.
- Serves as the central point of contact for purchasing office supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness and inventory management.
- Arranges furniture installations, renovations, and repairs.
- Identifies and analyzes problems with facilities, proposing solutions to support organizational needs.
- Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe working environment.
- Maintains fire evacuation and disaster response plans, and serves as backup Emergency Response Coordinator.
- Maintains fire alarm and fire protection systems.
- Responsible for waste disposal and recycling programs.
- Serves as backup for building security system administration and front desk reception.
- Responsible for maintenance and inspection of other diocesan properties, maintaining records of equipment, inspections, and utilities.
- Requires 3-5 years of experience in facilities, project, or property management.
- Associate’s degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Business, or related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
- Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Availability for emergency response on a 24-hour basis.
- Ability to perform routine repairs; certifications are a plus.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform other physical tasks.
- Ability to handle moderate stress related to time constraints and hazards.
- Satisfactory completion of background and reference checks and Safe Environment Training.
