Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Operating Engineer to perform inspection, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, test, and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, lighting, fire, life, safety, and facility systems in a Chicago area commercial office building.

You will handle carpentry, plumbing, painting, snow removal, and CMMS data entry to support building infrastructure while following safety policies and codes. On-call duties nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Good general working knowledge of all trades.
• Proven mechanical ability and aptitude.
• Good computer skills; BMS troubleshooting preferred.
• Proven ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Demonstrates attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and repair facility systems including HVAC, electrical, lighting, fire, life, safety, boilers, refrigeration units, and pumps.
• Attend and/or participate in safety training per C&W SERVICES policy.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of facility systems and equipment.
• Document tasks in CMMS and maintain equipment histories.
• Complete and input data for all work orders in a timely manner.
• Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas safely and cleanly.
• Coordinate with other vendors and teams when needed.
• Communicate repair status to supervisor/manager regularly.
