Job summary

Community Action Corporation of South Texas is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform a broad range of maintenance tasks, from HVAC and plumbing to electrical and carpentry. The role includes safety inspections, reporting hazards, and maintaining equipment and vehicles.

The ideal candidate has at least two years' facility maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a Texas driver’s license. A PRS background check is required.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior experience in facility maintenance.
• Understanding six core competencies of risk management and applying them in a non-profit environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of semi-skilled and general maintenance tasks, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, lighting, and minor repairs.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities and job sites; identify, report, and correct hazards; ensure compliance with agency policies and OSHA/FEMA standards.
• Track and document inspections, maintenance activities, and expenses; submit required reports, receipts, and documentation in a timely manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facilities, equipment, and vehicles to minimize downtime and reduce the risk of further issues.
• Ensure that all work orders are processed and completed in a timely manner.
• Safely operate all agency equipment and company vehicles as needed.
