Job summary

STRRC in Texas seeks a maintenance technician to perform routine and specific maintenance services which may include grounds work, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical equipment repair.

Responsibilities include backing up the call person in emergencies, operating hand and power tools safely, following preventive maintenance schedules, inspecting emergency power equipment, fire alarms, lighting, and plumbing, and completing required reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in maintenance or facility operations required.
• Knowledge of standard practices, procedures and tools in the general building/maintenance trades preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair to facility and equipment.
• Back-up for call person in case of emergency.
• Handle all equipment in a safe manner and demonstrate good working knowledge of tools.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedule and complete reports as requested.
• Inspect and maintain emergency power equipment and fire alarm systems; test and record readiness.
• Inspect and maintain plumbing systems and repair fixtures as needed.
