Job summary

The City of Whitewater is seeking a Facility Maintenance I to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, inspection, and preventive maintenance of City buildings, grounds, equipment, and building systems.

You will take ownership of facility conditions, prioritize self-identified work, maintain documentation, and communicate issues to supervision. Some duties include cleaning, snow removal, and setup of furnishings as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of related experience required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• HVAC mechanicals, minor electrical, welding, plumbing and carpentry desirable.
• Large truck/equipment experience desirable.
• Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator desirable.

Responsibilities

• Proactively inspects City facilities, grounds, equipment, and building systems.
• Identifies maintenance and repair needs and prioritizes work.
• Performs routine maintenance and inspections per preventive programs.
• Operates and maintains building systems and equipment.
• Maintains logs and records of maintenance and inspections.
• Performs interior and exterior maintenance painting and related tasks.
• Ensures safe work practices and housekeeping.
• Provides assistance across departments as needed.
