Job summary

City of Waukesha is seeking a Building Maintenance Coordinator for City Hall to perform cleaning, basic repairs, and grounds upkeep. The role reports to Engineering III or Facilities and Construction Manager and operates Monday through Friday with occasional emergency calls.

Responsibilities include cleaning floors, windows, restrooms, waste handling, basic HVAC and electrical maintenance, and coordinating with vendors as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school with technical training and 4-6 years of custodial experience.
• Experience with basic heating, ventilation and electrical work preferred.
• Knowledge of building maintenance and cleaning procedures; carpentry basics.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, wash, clean and polish floors, walls and restrooms in City Hall.
• Collect, recycle and dispose of waste; destroy confidential information as directed.
• Report and replace broken or malfunctioning appliances.
• Shovel snow from walkways; care for surrounding grounds.
• Set up furniture for meetings and assist in renovations or redecorating.
