Job summary

Whitley County is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair buildings, grounds, and equipment across the Government Center, Courthouse, Jail, Annex, Work Release, and Museum.

The role includes preventative HVAC maintenance, large project support, and seasonal snow/ice removal, with duties requiring safe tool use and adherence to OSHA regulations. A high school diploma or GED is required; a Construction Trades degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; degree in construction trades preferred.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry codes.
• Ability to operate hand and/or power tools and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair floors, walls, doors, windows, and furniture across County facilities.
• Assist with preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and seasonal snow removal.
• Perform maintenance tasks and large projects with material ordering and planning.
• Respond to emergencies as needed and maintain OSHA safety compliance.
• Operate tools and equipment and support grounds maintenance and landscaping.
