Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform facility and equipment maintenance and document activities in the CMMS. The role includes troubleshooting motors, pumps, HVAC, and patient care gear, with responsibilities across building systems and medical equipment.

The position requires 4+ years of experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license. Certification in a relevant trade or system is preferred, with ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in equipment maintenance.
• Certification and/or training in a relevant skill/trade/equipment/system for the job/site.
• Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Performs facility and equipment maintenance and documents in CMMS.
• Maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots mechanical equipment (motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, etc.).
• Maintains patient care equipment (beds, wheelchairs, carts, tables, etc.).
• Troubleshoots mechanical/electrical systems (HVAC, refrigerators, piping, gas systems, etc.).
• Performs routine to complex general maintenance (grounds, carpentry, painting, snow removal).
• Responds to emergencies (leaks, floods, power outages, equipment failures) and communicates status to requesters.
• Conducts preventive maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Inspects and repairs fire doors, hardware, firewalls, and smoke partitions.
• Reads blueprints and maintenance manuals to complete assignments.
