Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician at Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center. The role supports preventive maintenance of basic facility systems, document tasks in the CMMS, and troubleshoot building infrastructure. The position is full-time, 40 hours/week, with a 1st shift.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and 2–4 years in industrial/trades maintenance, with strong communication skills and basic software proficiency. Travel and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision with technical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Conducts preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on basic facility systems and documents tasks through the computerized maintenance system.
• Assists in evaluating and troubleshooting basic building system failures and performs repairs as directed.
• Operates and monitors and maintains basic Utility System Infrastructure.
• Assist in maintaining fire alarm and fire protection systems.
• Supports the installation of building hardware, electrical devices, and wall finishes under supervision.
• Maintains preventive maintenance records and equipment repair files for compliance.
• Reads blueprints, Life Safety drawings and maintenance manuals to gain knowledge needed to complete assignments.
