Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Staff Member in Fort Lauderdale, FL to ensure mechanical systems and common areas are well-maintained. Expect a Mon-Fri schedule with possible on-call duties, and a pay rate of $21–$22 per hour.

You will perform routine building repairs, painting, and safety-focused maintenance while coordinating with staff and completing daily work orders. This role requires physical readiness and strong customer service skills in a busy property environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years general experience in building trades, repair and maintenance.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Multilingual abilities are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Routinely walks floors and reports issues to supervisors.
• Ensures safety precautions are followed while performing work.
• Maintains good working relationships with building staff.
• Paints common areas and performs touch-ups as needed.
• Completes daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
• Performs minor maintenance in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting and flooring.
• Follows safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Properly uses new equipment following safety guidelines.
