Job summary

FirstService Residential seeks a Maintenance Staff Member in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The role ensures mechanical systems and equipment operate correctly and common areas stay clean, disinfected, and aesthetically pleasing.

You will perform routine inspections, repairs, painting, and daily work orders while upholding safety and customer service standards. The position offers a Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm schedule with occasional on-call.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• 2+ years general experience in building trades or maintenance.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Multilingual abilities are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Routinely walks floors and roofs to check for problems; reports to supervisors.
• Ensures safety precautions are followed while performing work.
• Maintains good working relationships with building staff.
• Paints common areas and touches up as needed; inspects areas to be painted.
• Completes daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
• Lifts/moves heavy items safely as directed by supervisors.
• Performs maintenance and minor repairs in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting and flooring.
• Follows safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Performs repairs in various trades without requiring a permit.
