Join NC State University's Building Maintenance and Operations (BMO) team as a Facilities Maintenance Technician - Contributing and build your skills while helping keep our campus facilities safe, reliable, and operating at their best. This hands‑on position works within a zone maintenance shop on NC State's Original Campus, Centennial Campus, or Centennial Biomedical Campus (Veterinary School) and supports routine maintenance, operations, and repairs across building systems.
In this role, you'll develop practical experience across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, steam, and other building systems while working alongside experienced mechanics and technicians. You'll perform preventive maintenance, assist with repairs, operate basic tools and equipment, monitor equipment, identify potential problems, and know when to elevate more complex issues to higher‑level mechanics. Minimum Experience/Education: High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
