Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician II in Schertz, Texas, to ensure reliability and efficiency of our facility systems.

You will diagnose, repair, and preventive maintain complex equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, and chiller systems, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. You'll work independently on challenging issues and collaborate with engineering, operations and safety teams to maximize uptime and maintain a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment in a manufacturing or operations environment, or relevant certification/degree in lieu of experience.
• Intermediate use of hand tools, power tools, and routine maintenance like lubrication and inspections.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems (pulleys, gears, bearings) and electronics (photo sensors, PLCs, servo drives, VFDs).
• Familiar with reading electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on facilities equipment per work orders and docs.
• Respond to operational calls for troubleshooting and diagnosing problems.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical assemblies.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement activities and document work histories.
