Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Texas seeks a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to support maintenance and facilities operations on the 3rd shift.

You will repair and maintain building systems, operate air compressors, fire systems, and cooling towers, and perform preventive maintenance. This role requires hands-on carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC work, and strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in facility maintenance.
• Understanding of lockout / tagout procedures.
• Familiar with PM procedures, including performing PM’s and logging work order completion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Applications.

Responsibilities

• Use hand and power tools to perform carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pipefitting, painting, HVAC and other repairs and maintenance.
• Operate and maintain facility systems such as air compressors, dryers, wet and dry fire systems, cooling tower systems, overhead doors.
• Knowledge in the use and application of moderately complex electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on facility and production equipment and systems.
• Adheres to established industry and enterprise standards, policies and practices relating to safety, quality, schedule, cost, accounting, purchasing and regulatory compliance in performing assigned duties.
• Participate in the implementation of Continuous Improvements (CI) projects, space planning projects and capital projects.
• Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
• Conducts and completes on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.
