Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician I to help deliver a safe, well-maintained store environment. You will perform preventive maintenance on buildings, equipment, and grounds, under supervision, and support multiple Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom Rack locations within a business node.

The role requires basic trade skills across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, and HVAC, plus strong communication and willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of related experience or training.
• Ability to read and interpret basic manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed.
• Strong communication skills for coordination across teams.
• Basic tool proficiency and willingness to learn additional tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day preventive maintenance and respond to on-demand requests.
• Conduct daily inspections and building rounds to identify issues.
• Assist with basic repairs of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and lighting systems.
• Maintain lighting fixtures and replace bulbs as needed.
• Follow safety rules, PPE usage, LO TO procedures and job site policies.
• Log maintenance activities accurately in the work order system.
• Coordinate with Facilities Manager and lead Technician on tasks.
• Provide safe, courteous customer service to store employees.
