Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician I to help maintain a safe, well‑kept store environment across Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack locations.

You’ll perform preventive maintenance on buildings, systems, and grounds under close supervision, with growing knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. Day‑to‑day tasks include completing maintenance requests, inspecting facilities, troubleshooting basic issues, and keeping accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year related experience.
• Ability to read directions and follow procedures; communicate effectively.
• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and on-demand requests from Sales Floor.
• Maintain maintenance records accurately and timely.
• Conduct daily inspections and building rounds.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs of buildings and installed systems.
• Maintain lighting systems and replace bulbs.
• Read electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot.
• Lift and move materials as needed.
• Follow safety rules and company directives.
