Job summary

Nordstrom in Boca Raton is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician I to help create a safe, well-maintained store environment. The role involves general preventive maintenance of buildings, systems, equipment, and grounds, with close supervision and support across multiple Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom Rack locations within a business node.

Candidates should have basic working knowledge in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling, and be able to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience or training.
• Able to communicate effectively with all organizational levels in written and verbal form.
• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours support may be required.
• Basic ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
• Entry level proficiency with power tools and willingness to learn more tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day preventive maintenance and respond to on-demand requests.
• Conduct daily inspections and building rounds.
• Assist with basic repairs of buildings and installed systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing).
• Maintain lighting systems, fixtures, and replace bulbs as needed.
• Read and interpret circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
• Use PC or laptop for work order management and training tasks.
• Provide safe, courteous customer service and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Follow safety rules including LOTO, PPE and working at heights.
