Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician I to uphold a safe, well‑maintained store environment across Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom Rack locations. You will perform general preventive maintenance on buildings, systems, equipment, and grounds under close supervision, using basic trade skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, and HVAC.

Entry‑level proficiency with power tools and PC use for work orders is expected, along with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year related experience or training.
• Ability to understand and follow directions and procedures.
• Effective written and verbal communication across organizational levels.
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours as required.
• Basic MS Office skills (Outlook; Excel) and PC use for work orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day preventive maintenance and on-demand requests.
• Conduct daily inspections and building rounds.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic building systems, plumbing, HVAC, roofs, and electrical.
• Maintain lighting and replace bulbs; read schematics and blueprints for fixes.
• Adhere to safety rules (LOTO, PPE) and company directives.
